Mitchell Sandler Expands Mortgage Industry and Litigation Practices with Additions Led by Daniella Casseres and Ari Karen


WASHINGTON–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Mitchell Sandler LLC, a specialty law firm founded in 2019 to provide leading and profitable legal services to the financial services and fintech industries, has more than 20 attorneys and is increasing its capacity to serve clients of the mortgage sector with a group of 15 new hires led by partners Daniella Cassères and Ari karen. Casseres will join the managing partner Andrea Mitchell and chief operating officer Robyn Quattrone Member of Mitchell Sandler’s three-member board of directors, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to being a leading financial services law firm owned and managed by majority women.

In addition to serving on Mitchell Sandler’s management committee, Casseres will lead Mitchell Sandler’s mortgage regulatory practice group. She has a national practice advising mortgage companies on matters of compliance with federal and state regulations, including those involving fair lending, licensing, confidentiality and anti-money laundering requirements. She frequently advises clients on Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Loan Truth Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and state laws.

Karen will lead the firm’s litigation and labor and employment practices. He maintains active practices in both areas, advising mortgage lenders and other financial services companies nationwide on government investigations and enforcement actions and representing companies in labor and employment disputes, as well as collective consumer actions.

Two lawyers, four compliance specialists and two additional staff members move with Casseres and Karen to Mitchell Sandler from their former firm. The group of lawyers bring significant experience in commercial litigation and advising mortgage industry clients on regulatory matters. Separately, five additional lawyers, including a longtime in-house lawyer with a major lender, have also joined the firm.

Mitchell Sandler Partner Christophe Napier was recently promoted to head of the company’s fintech group, providing transactional, regulatory, enforcement and corporate advice to clients ranging from start-ups to industry-leading fintech companies.
