KOLKATA, WEST BENGAL, INDIA, April 30, 2022 / — The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, a leading professional accountancy body, has organized the National Student Convocation -2022, a solemn occasion which bestows the recognition at the CMA Qualified and Qualified Intermediate finals of the last 5 quarters, at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata on 29 April 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is one of the leading professional accountancy bodies established for the regulation of cost and management accounting profession in India. For more than 78 years, it has tirelessly contributed to the growth of the country’s industrial and economic ecosystem.

Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal graced the convocation as the chief guest, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Education, GoI as special guest of honor and Shri Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group as guest of honor.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included: CMA P. Raju Iyer, President of the Institute; CMA Vijender Sharma, Vice President; CMA (Dr) Balwinder Singh, President – National Student Convocation – 2022, CMA Biswarup Basu, Past President, other Council members; Vice-chancellors from various universities, prominent economists, CMDs from PSU as well as other eminent personalities from academia, business and the profession and approximately 1500 students and their parents from across the country and government officials Institute joined this event.

Our goal is to develop industry-ready professionals by bridging the gap between academia and business and instilling the right skills and attitude, bringing accountability with a deeply transformative experience. As the nation begins its journey to carve out a very special and unique niche for itself on the world map, we are not left out; moreover, then making every effort to create and deliver value to our students, society, and the world around us.

The Institute recently held its first phase of on-campus placement campaign in four regions for the December 2021 batch of qualified CMAs in April 2021, simultaneously in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Approximately 500 students are placed in prominent organizations so far this term, which is an all-time high in the history of the Institute’s campus placement campaigns, marking a phenomenal growth in relation to the placements of Last year.

The highest CTC offered during this period was Rs.27.5 lakhs pa by Power Finance Corporation, up 30% from the highest CTC reached last year. Moreover, the average CTC offered was around Rs.10 lakhs pa
